Eketahuna.
Monday. Messrs Anderson and Aulin, J’s.P. sentenced a young man named loppal to two month's hard labor for stealing a watch from a man named McLennan. Tho weather still keeps fine here, and those who had not burned their before, have been taking advantage of it. Parkville is still forging ahead. I understand that n new -avvmill is bein erected on Mr McAnulty’s property in that township. The mill will be under the management of Messrs Pew and Wyley, late of Carterton. Haw era ia also to be favored with a new mill the machinery of wh ch arrived at Eketahnna a day or two ago. Tuesday. The Wesleyans of this place held a very satisfactory gathering to-night in Flliston's Hall to hear the Rev. Mr Gibson lecture on his missionary life in Fiji, which was illustrated by magic lantern views. There was a fairly good audience who appreciated the Rev. gentleman’s efforts to instruct and amuse. Mrs Gibson also rendered a Fijian song in char aeter, which was highly appreciated by the audience. Thursday. A very successful social was held iu Elliston's Hall last night in aid of the funds for building an English Church.
