Immense Damage. Flying to the Hills for Safety.

Further details concerning the hurricane in the Roebnrn district show that nearly all the luggers were driven ashore. Many of them were completely wrecked. The train line suffered so severely that it will take three months to repair the damages. Traffic in the district is entirely sn-ptnded. bridges being mipasHable. The station holders suffered severely. The Wood Brook homestead was destroyed, and a Chinaman drowned, the rest of the occupants having narrow escapes Sherlock Station is completely ruined. All the buildings were swept away and the inhabitants including the _ _ *'*B •« fly to the hills, wading women u«. .. , 6 to their wiajU in water. Twenty aim inch* * of rain fell at Croydon and 80 inches at Woodhrook. The Hoei lrn guage waa blown away.
