Wednesday, January 10th. The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Council was neld to-day. Present—- < i - Bolton (chairman), G. \\ hitcotnbe, T. Ho«lgins, J. B. 1 ait. P. J. Murphv. A. Boss, A. Yule, J. Griffith. Before the minutes were confirmed Cr Whitcombe* asked to have recorded his objection to th committee’s report being ulopted ns he was absent when the Work Committee’s report was continued. Corn spondence was read and the follow ing resolutions dealing with the same carried : Tliat Mr Gardner’s offer be referred to th»- Engineer.—A resolution that the offer be accepted was lost, only Crs Gullith and Murphy supporting it. That Mr B. Parker’s he referred to the lin im-cr with power to accept the offer if he thought it advisable. That Mr Burgess be informed that money will not be available by this Council for six mouths at least. That Mr Scully bo paid the sum of j£S 10s t\»r extra work done on contract 271. Th i: Mr K >pke be granted pjrmission on usual terms, viz., fence to be removed when required. That Mrs Nestor be informed that the thirds from her sections will be expended as approved by the Land lioard. TENDERS. Radford has a new advertisement in to-day, in which he offers some wonderful bargains to be obtained nt his establishment. There are a lot of Scotchmen round Pahiatua (says Fair Play) and a Burns Club is one of the popular institutions of the place.
