The Masterton Libel Case.
Presentation to Mr Payton. By Telegraph—Press Association. Mastkrton, This day. Sixty-six residents yesterday presented Mr Payton, of the Wairarapa Daily Times, with the amount of costs incurred in defending the late libel case brought by Mr Pownall, and an address expressing their appreciation of the manner in which the paper had upheld the principles of religion and morality.
