PROPOSED LOANS. >T OTICE is hereby given that it is | the intention of the Pahiatua County Council, with the consent of the ratepayers interested, to raise the following loans under “ The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, IHK6 ” : Loan 41— Mangahao Bridge.— A Loan of One Thousand Pounds (to supplement grants from Government) for the Construction of an Ordinary Traffic Bridge across the Mangahao River at the Bridge Site at Sinclair’s Crossing, Block VII., Mangahao, and forming approaches thereto. Cost of engineering, raising loan, and clerical expenses, to be paid out of loan. To meet the interest and charges of the said loan it is proposed to strike a Special Rate of One Farthing in the Pound on the rateable value of the sections comprised within the following area —Bounded on the east by the Mangahao River ; on the north by the Manawatua River ; on the south by the boundary of the Woodville-Mangahao Special Settlement; and on the west by the Forest Reserve, excluding the block of land known as the Hall Special Settlement. A meeting of ratepayers interested will be held at Mr James Sinclair’s house on Saturday, November 18th, at 10 a.m.

Loan 42— Upper Maker! Road.— A Loan of Nine Hundred Pounds for Metalling the Upper Makuri Road, commencing at the south-western boundary of section 4, Block XI., and extending towards the north-eastern boundary of section 13, Block VII., Makuri, as far as funds permit. Cost of raising loan, engineering and clerical expenses to be paid out of loan. To meet the interest and charges of the said loan it is proposed to strike a Special Kate of One Penny and Fiveeighths of a Penny on the rateable value of the following sections—6 of X., and 4 of XI., 5 and 6 of XI., 9 of VII. and XI., 8 of XI., 7,8, 10 of VII. and XI., 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 of Vll.—all in the Makuri Survey District. A meeting of ratepayers interested will be held at Mr B. C. Wilson’s on section 4, Block XI., on Monday, November 20th, at 3 p.m. Loan 43— Rock Road. —A Loan of Four Hundred Pounds for Metalling the Rock Road. Cost of engineering, clerical expenses, and raising loan to be paid out of loan. To meet the interest and charges of the said loan it is proposed to strike a Special Rate of One Half-penny in the Pound on the rateable value of the following sections —1,2, 5,7, 9, 12, Block XVI., Mangahao : 8 of XVI. and 25 of XV., half of section 6, Block XVI.; sections 24, 26, 20, 22, 28, Block XV., 28a of Block 111., Mangaone ; 21, 32, and 12, Blocks XV. and XL, 23, 27, Block XV.; 25, 26, 27, 28 and 30, Block HI., Mangaone.
