STOCK REPORT.
Messrs Abraham iV Williams report At our Pahiatua sale on Wednesday an average entry of cattle and sheep came forward. We had again to face a dull market at starting, which, however, wore off as the sale proceeded, and we had the satisfaction of clearing the whole of the sheep and all the cattle with the exception of one or two animals of exceptional merit, for which the demand in tiiis district is limited. We quote :—Ewes and lambs in the wool, 9s 9d to 10s 3d ; wethers in the wool, 11s 8d ; hoggets,do., 10s 8d ; shorn, mixed hoggets, 8s ; dairy cows, £6 10s ; springing heifers, £4 10s to £5 9s 6d ; 2 year steers, £4 ‘2s 6d to £4 4s ; mixed yearlings, £2 l’2s 6d to £2 14s 6d ; calves, 80s. Mr H. Monteith reports orj October 31 : —There was a good entry of cattle and • f- w Amp hi my monthly stork da lo day, and for really good lines competition was brisk. Prices realised wore as fol lows • —Cattle—Dairy heifers, a superior line of seven, brought £5 13a ; dairy oow% to £5 ss; yearlings to 15-months steer* and heifers, £2 13s 6d ; weaners, 355.
