THE ROYAL SHOW

FIXTURES FOR THE FUTURE DISCUSSION BY SOCIETY. WELLINGTON, June 22. A suggestion that there should be no Royal Show during 1933, but that the fixture should be held in Auckland in February,’ 1934, to be followed by a Royal Show in the South Island in the following December was made by Mr W. F. O’Donnell (Auckland) at the conference of the Royal Agricultural Society this evening. The chairman (Mr L. R. C. Macfarlane) said he favoured a cycle of seven years, which meant that Christchurch and Palmerston North had it twice to once in each of the other three centres.

Mr J. Linklater, M.P., said that Manawatu did not wish to appear selfish, but would like the Royal Show as often as possible and could make adequate provision for it. Ihe claims of Southland were also advanced. The chairman said the discussion would prove helpful to the council when it was deciding the question.
