He darted forward, and with a mighty heave pushed her right into the pool.” “ Gug! gug!” spluttered the witch. “ I shall melt in the magic oil if you do not pull me out.” “ We’ll pull you out‘if you’ll set us free,” cried Golly. No sooner had he spoken than the iron gate, barring the entrance to the cave, went up with a grinding noise! " The Chums pulled the witch out of the pool and Teddv seized the jar of magic oil. They were off down the hill before the witch had recovered her breath. *
