KING’S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS ADMINISTRATOR'S ROUND OF VISITS. WELLINGTON, June 21. The Samoan correspondent of the Press Association writes as follows under date J une 11:— Ideal weather prevailed for the King’s Birthday. The regatta and the races were well attended. Laulii village won the first boat race, and Lefaga village the other. The ball at Government House was a great success. 250 persons being present. His Excellency, the Administrator (Mr H. E. Hart) left on June 8 for his annual visit to Savaii, which will extend to June 10. Visits are to be paid to the principal districts and villages in Savaii. The Administrator will make a similar malaga around Unolo from July 11 to 22. H.M.S, Laburnum will arrive from Suva on June 23, and on the 25th will depart for Tokelau’ taking the Administrator for his annual visit there, and returning to Apia on the 30th. The Diomede will arrive on July 28 and will depart on August 1. Mr A. Macdonald, Collector of Customs, will return to New Zealand in July, his term of office having expired.

The motor ketch Choiseul, which has been moored in the harbour, sank when being towed towards the beach where the yacht Carnegie was beached a few years ago. . All efforts to raise the Choiseul have so far proved unsuccessful, Messrs Burns, Philp and Co. are the owners.
