“ Tra-la-la! Tra-la-la la-a-al The time was early morning, and Teddy and Golly were out for what Golly called an “ airing,” when this strange “ l.a la ” noise caught their ears. The Chums were walking up a wooded hill-side and the sound seemed to come from a clump of trees nearby. “ Somebody hurt," said Golly. “ Got his head fast, I should say." “ You’re wrong, it’s merely some person who thinks he's an opera singer. Let us greet him with disdain.” replied Teddy. “ Lettuce greet ’im with disdain? Is that something to eat?” asked Golly, but Teddy had marched on with a sniff. They peered through the trees, and saw in a clearing a dwarf, his clothes in rags and tatters, dancing around two pots lying on the ground. “ I've made the magic powder fine, and every bit of it is mine," he sang. “ Not if I know it," yelled Teddy, and. dashing into the clearing, snatched up one of the pots and darted away with Golly at his heels carrying the other, and the dwarf in close pursuit! ’ (To be Continued.)
