POST AND TELEGRAPH OFFICERS’ GUILD
ANNUAL CONFERENCE. WELLINGTON. August 26. The. annual conference of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Guild was opened by the Postmaster-general (Mr J. B. Donald). The chairman (Mr J. W. MTean, of Wellington) expressed pleasure that every district was representedj and that • the membership had increased approximately 800. The financial position was satisfactory, despite several claims on the death benefit fund during the year. The Minister spoke of the financial position, and expressed sympathy with the public service on account of what had happened during the past few months. He was optimistic, however, of an improvement in the not far distant future.
