SMOLLETT.—On August 27. 1931 (result of an accident). David, beloved husband of the late Jessie Smollett (of Awamangu) ; aged 51 years. Deeply mourned. THOMPSON.—On August 29, 1931, at her residence, 185 Leith street, Annie R., beloved wife of the late Reginald Thomn son. Deeply mourned. TRAPP.—At North Harrow. Middlesex, Isabel Beatrice, wife of YV. H. Trapp, and younger daughter of the late Dr John Macdonald. of Dunedin. WILLIAMS. —On August 25, 1931, at her sister's residence, 48 Wharfe street, Oaqnaru, Catherine Janet, widow of the late Peter Williams, and eldest daughter of the late Rev. Algernon and Sarah Ann Gifford : in her seventy-ninth year. YOUNG. —At her residence, 67 Earnslaw street, Invercargill, on Wednesday, August 19, 1931, Elizabeth Patricia Bennett, widow of the late William Young; aged 87 years.
