The damage done by rooks to growing crops has been brought under the notice of the North. Canterbury Acclimatisation Society by a farmer who wrote that, these birds were, pulling up the shoots of young wheat, and that he had been unable'to frighten them in any way. The society has replied that it will raise no objection to any steps taken by tbe farmer to cope with the nuisance.
