ARMED ROBBERIES
TWO SUSPECTS REMANDED. WELLINGTON, August 20. Arrested at New Plymouth on Saturday, Florence Winstone, aged 27, a married woman, and Jack Winstone, alias George Morton, aged 21, a seaman, were charged to-day that, being armed, to wit, with a five-chambered revolver, they robbed Maurice Guthrie of a chequebook; and being found at New Plymouth in the possession of a revolver and a compressed air pistol otherwise than for some lawful and proper purpose. <She first charge relates to the armed hold-up on the Shelly Bay - road on August 7. They were remanded till August 26.
