“You can see that your wife is a sick woman,” said Mr E. Roe, cross-examin-ing a defendant in a maintenance case heard in the Rotorua Magistrate’s Court. The defending husband carefully inspected his wife across the top of the witness box. “ I can see the powder,” he remarked, sceptically.
