ALLEGED THEFT OF MONEY
PARTNER IN FIRM CHARGED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. CHRISTCHURCH, August 5. Twelve charges of stealing moneys totalling £lO5 between February, 1926. and December, 1930, from Munro and Hickinbottom, tailors, were made against Robert John Munro, aged 56, before the magistrate (Mr 11. A. Young). Munro pleaded not guilty, and was committed for trial. The police said that Munro and Hickinbottom bad carried on business for many years in partnership. Either had been entitled to receive moneys for the firm, and to pay them into the common account. It was alleged that Alunro received the moneys and converted them to his own use without entering them in the books.
