MEAT PRODUCERS’ BOARD.

SMITHFIELD PRICES. The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated August 7, advising that the following are the approximate average prices realised tor the week, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of meat mentioned, and are for representa tive parcels of the goods offe-ing during the week, being for business done on the basis of delivered to Smithfield Market and/or ex London stores:— (Prices for the two previous weeks are also shown).

N.Z. Frozen Veal .. .. . . .. — — — Lamb Market: Quiet; prices unchanged. Lightweight firm, but heavy-weight inclined to ease. Consumption continues excellent. Mutton Market: Wethers quiet; ewes firm, with prices unchanged. Beef Market: Rather more interest being displayed In frozen beef. K.Z. Porker and Baconer Pigs: Poor demand at present.
