“It is no wonder, to our shame be it said, that advocates of artificial birth • control in England have pointed to the Dominion as a practical example of the effect of birth-prevention practices ” (states the Roman Catholic journal The Month). Figures from the Year Book are quoted in support of this, as follows: —“ In 18SG there were 31.73 children under one year per 1000 of our population. Without taking into consideration the infant mortality improvement, the 1926 census showed that the figures had fallen to 19.35. This represents a decline in children under one year of 39 per cent, in the 21-ycar period!”-
