TWENTY-NINTH ANNUAL

FESTIVAL.

FINAL DEMONSTRATION CONCERTS. The twenty-ninth annual festival of the Dunedin Competitions Society was brought to finality on Saturday, when two demonstration concerts were given in Hiq Majesty’s Theatre. These concerts served a dual purpose, bringing in additional revenue to the society and also providing an opportunity for the successful to show the public their capabilities as artists. Both programmes, which included instrumental and vocal music, elocutionary items, and dancing, were admirably selected, and patrons had the pleasure of listening to delightfully varied perform-? ances. The attendance on each occasion was very good, and the performers, who acquitted themselves really well, were rewarded with hearty applause.
