Keen interest is being displayed in the formation of a company having for its object the boring for oil in Southland, the location of the spot being between Kauana and Bemnore, where as a result of a geological survey it is considered most likely-that oil will be struck (says the Southland Times). It needs no stretch of imagination to determine what a boon the striking of Oil in Southland would mean to the district, bringing in its train, as it would, -.hiuch employment, great inflow of capital and much prosperity.
