If there is anything in the popular belief that horseshoes bring good hick the New Plymouth (N.Z.) Oil Wells, Ltd., who are about to commence drilling operations near the harbour, are in for some good fortune in their venture (says the Taranaki Herald). ’ A-quantity of gear aind machinery was received from Gisborne, and when the plant was being assembled on the site there was found among the consignment two sacks of horseshoes. How they came to be in the shipment is not known, but the coincidence is regarded as a happy omen.
