OTAGO A. AND P. SOCIETY.
SUMMER SHOW.
The decision of the General Committee of the Otagb A. and P. Society to appoint sub-committees consisting of three members to revise the Summer Show schedule, recommend judges, and to appoint the necessary class stewards for each section, has turned out satisfactorily. The result has been that each section has been carefully -revised, and the schedule is now being distributed. It would be ■impossible to review the different classes, but it is evident that this year’s schedule will give every breeder an opportunity of competing. Whilst admitting that the society’s summer shows should receive more support, it cannot be said as far as quality is concerned that it lacks anything. The committee has again included maiden classes in Romney sheep, Border Leicesters, Corriedales, and Merinos, and hopes that it will receive sufficient support, not only to justify it in continuing the present classes, but to extend similar conditions in other sections. There are a number of breeders who have undoubtedly good stock, but who may not care to go to the expense of getting their stock in good condition to enable them to compete with the more 'favourably-placed rival breeders. A varied and most attractive programme lias been arranged for the People’s Day. Given good weather and reasonable loyalty and support from breeders and the general public, the Summer Show should be a financial success.
For tbe convenience of intending exhibitors copies of the schedule can be obtained from kindred associations and from representatives of the various stock agents throughout Otago. The Show Grounds are in excellent condition, and instruction has been given to have the sheep and cattle pens atteded to, and other necessary repairs executed.
