PRODUCE MARKETS.
CHRISTCHURCH. October 3
So far as business on the local grain and produce market is concerned it is almost at a standstill, except for potatoes, in which there is still a little doing. There has been a slightly better inquiry for potatoes this week, and the price has improved a little. To-day’s quotations are £3 12s 6d to £3 15s. f.0.b.. s.i., equal to £2 15s to £3 on trucks. There is very little doing in small seeds, and no change in prices. . There was another drop of 10s a ton in the price of bran and pollard yesterday, in sympathy with the further drop in prices iu Australia. Today’s prices are:—Bran, local, £6; shipping, £5 10s, f.0.b., with 10s extra for smaller packings; pollard, local, £6 ss; shipping £5 ss, f.0.b., with 10s extra for smaller packings.
