Chums in Rhyme Land.

No. 13. Faster and faster the cat played on the fiddle and the cow danced and jumped and jogged about, nearly throwing the Chums off her back many times. “ Ha, ha, ha! Ha, ha ha!” The Chums heard someone laughing heartily and looking round saw that it was the little dog. Then came a clink, clink, clinking sound and they noticed that the dish had run off with the spoon. The cow now began to leap high into the air. Up, up she went higher and higher, until they nearly touched the moon. “ Woa!” yelled Teddy, but the cow wouldn’t stop. Then as the cat played at a terrific pace the cow jumped right over the moon. And the little dog laughed until he rolled over, while the dish was miles away with the spoon. They sailed down the other side and the cow suddenly stopped on a cloud, so suddenly in fact, that the Chums were thrown off her back and plunged down through the air! “ Somebody’s going to get hurt!” shouted Golly. “ I hope I land on some cushions!” Teddy bawled back. In next to no time they saw the fields again and the earth seemed to be rushing towards them. Down, down they flew. Then they landedbump!, Teddy daren’t open his eyes for a few minutes, and when he did so he found that he was sitting in an armchair—their armchair—at home and Golly was sitting beside him, rubbing his eyes sleepily. “ Phew!” said Teddy. “ I agree with you," answered Golly.
