Zealand Railways Magazine for September there are articles on “Train Control,” “Tourist Possibilities of New Zealand,” “ The Station Agent,” “ Dunedin to Christchurch by Rail,” “How Tikitere Got its Hot Springs,” and “History of the Canterbury Railways,” as well as a women’s section and letters from overseas. The magazine is illustrated.
“ The Great Empire and Imperial Freetrade ’ is a booklet written by an American —Mr James W. Gerard, G.C.8., LL.D. —concerning the economic questions that beset Great Britain. It concludes with the paragraph: “As a student of economic questions, I congratulate those who are seeking to lead Britain out of the valley of despair through the adoption of Freetrade between the divisions of the great Empire.”
