FLYING BOAT’S FLIGHT.

HOBSONVILLE TO WELLINGTON. ™ n WELLINGTON, October 3. n Yx ell c akead of scheduled time, the Cutty Sark, a flying boat from the Hobsonville air base, arrived in Wellington this afternoon. • Piloted by Squadronleader L. M. Isitt, with Leading Aircraftsman R. V. Syme as mechanic, the machine left Auckland at 9 o’clock this morning and arrived at New Plymouth about two hours and a-half later. After lunch the boat took off at 1 p m The authorities were notified that tile’flyin" boat would arrive between 3.30 and 4 o clock, but the roar of the twin engines a few minutes after 3 p.m. was the first intimation that the citizens had that the machine had come to pay a visit. She was moored at an anchorage in Evans Bay.

Squadron-leader Isitt said he had had quite a good trip. How long the machine will remain in Wellington is indefinite at present, since the weather conditions will be considered before the return flight is undertaken, and the weather will decide the route.
