The King of Spain sent one of the most famous pictures in the Escurial- to the Italian Art Exhibition in London. The painting is by Tintoretto, and depicts Christ washing the disciples’ feet. It is a large canvas, about 17ft by 10ft, and is considered one of the greatest art treasures in Spain. Chicago astronomers have sighted and photographed the new Transnepturiian planet from Yerkes Observatory. Professor Vaniesbroeck says it is no wonder the planet has escaped detection so long since it is extremely faint, and its movement is scarcely discernible, so that it has the appearance of a fixed star. Cumbrians claim in their area they have the cheapest bus fares in Britain. By taking rover tickets the 240-mile journey to the Lake district can be done for ss—a farthing a mile. One enthusiast went all the way from Penrith to Silloth, via Carlisle, down to Millom and back through Keswick in a day for this sum.'
