“There are only two ways of getting out of it, you have to be either over 64 or a criminal," commented Gr W. G. Sherratt at the last meeting of the Cook County Council, when a letter from the sheriff (Mr J. N. Nalder) advised that the county overseer (Mr A. Guthrie) did not come under any of the exemptions from jury service, and there was no authority to remove his name from the list.
