—New telephones are installed in London by the Post Office at the rate of 1100 a w'eek.
The Court of Appeal has made an order striking Robert George Gardiner Bain off the rolls as a practising barrister and solicitor of the Dominion. Counsel for the New Zealand Law Society (Air Free) said that Bain formerly practised in Gisborne, but recently had been convicted on numerous charges of theft from various clients, and was at present serving a term of reformative detention for 12 months. The amount involved ■in these charges was £271 13s 6d. An order was made for the payment of 15 guineas costs to the Law Society.
