The old settlement at the “ Neck ” at Stewart Island, which is now deserted, presents a wonderful displav of- colour at present (states the Southland News’ correspondent). The old homesteads, which had small gardens in bygone days, have disappeared, but the bulbs ha\e increased amazingly, and vivid patches of yellow are now very noticeable.
