WELLINGTON SWIMMERS.
SUCCESS IN EGYPTIAN CHAM. PIONSHIPS.
WELLINGTON, September 26. At the Egyptian swimming championships, held at Heliopolis on August 9 and 10, two former Wellingtonians now stationed at No. 4 Flying Training School, Royal Air Force, Abu Sueir, were prominent. Squadron-leader Carr, a Wellington College old boy, was second in the 100 metres and third in the 440 metres; and Flying-offiaer Ulie Shannon was second in the 440 metres after a great race with Flying-officer King, a former English service champion. The interaggregate unit' cup, one of the most sought-after trophies in Egypt, was won by the Abu Sueir team, which included Shannon and Carr.
