FIRES.
FAMILY'S HURRIED ESCAPE. AUCKLAND. January 15. A house at Takanini, occupied by Mr Christiansen, his wife and two children, was destroyed by fire early this morning. A girl, aged 13, aroused her father, who found the kitchen ablaze. Mrs Christiansen seized the other child, aged two, and rushed on to the veranda,. All escaped ■without injury. The contents were a total loss.
