DIAMOND JUBILEE. (Photographs in This Issue.) The residents of Tuapeka Mouth cele» brated the diamond jubilee of the sehooj on January 4 and 5. The little community, located at the spot where he Tuapeka Creek empties into the Molyneux River, entered into the spirit of the celebration, and the result was a great success. it may be that the “ go-getter ” spirit of the gold miners of the ‘sixties, who originally settled the creek, had something to do with the vim vliiclj throughout characterised the proceedings. The programme was opened with a procession of ex-pupils, teachers, residents, and pupils round the 10-acre school glebe. At the head was an ex-pupil dressed as an old-time miner, with swag, and tin billy and dipper by his side. Afterwards tin address of welcome was delivered at the new jubilee iron gates of the school b.v the chairman of the Jubilee Celebration Committee (Mr Robertson Brown).
