CAPTAIN COOK RELIC.
TILLER OF THE RESOLUTION. GREYMOUTH, January 13. The tiller of the barge of Captain Cook’s ship Resolution was handed by Captain Mac Lean Campbell to Mr P. J. M'Lean during the latter’s recent tour of Britain, for presentation to the New Zealand Government. Mr M’Lean handed it to the High Commissioner’s office to forward to the Dominion. The tiller is about seven feet in length, of oak. and Jacobean in design. American offers to purchase it were declined.
