Under the will of the late Mr Horton Holder, of Christchurch, who died recently, of which the Public Trustee is executor and trustee, the following charitable bequests are made: —(a) The sum of £5O to St, Saviour’s Orphanage, Christchurch; (b) the sum of £5O to Nazareth House, Christchurch. The weed cutter which has been operating on the Hamilton lake in the past few weeks has now ceased working on account of mechanical defects, and will be returned to the Lands and Survey Department. About two-thirds of the area of weeds which spoil the beauty of the lake have been cleared, and the Hamilton Domain Board is considering the purchase of a weed-eradicator to complete the work, and to keep the growth in check in future.
