A huge map showing in detail the roads and street" and their levels, tram, bus, and railway routes, and all sections, their use, and the nature of buildings, is being prepared by the town planning department of the Auckland City Council (reports the Auckland Star). The area from the Tamaki to the Whau is embraced by the map, which is to be on a scale of fi e chains to the inch. The preparation of the map, required as a basis for the development of Auckland under the Town Planning Act. has involved a great deal of original work. There will be four sheets in the map, which will be 20ft by 10ft when completed towards the end oi the year.
