Few persons not of royal blood hold so many titles as the Duke of Atholl. Besides his dukedoom, he holds two marquisates—those, of Atholl and Tullibardine; and two earldoms—Strathtay and Strathardie. The duke also holds two viscountcies—Glenalmond and Glenlyon —in the peerage of Scotland, with the addition of two English earldoms and two baronies. It is under one of his English titles, that of Lord Strange, that the duke is entitled to a seat in the House of Lords.
