The une'nployed relief funds in the Hamilton Borough are exhausted. Out of 52 relief workers 32 have been taken over by the Public Works Department for work near Hamilton. Twelve have been retained for a few days. Of 10 who offered for relief work elsewhere nine were refused because their homes are in Hamilton. Each week the engines of the Railways Department in Christchurch use front 750 to 800 tons of coal (says the Christchurch Sun). Near the station there is a huge stack of coal. A stock of round about 12,000 tons is always kept. The amount used each week is balanced by the stocks coming to hand.
