HARBOURING YOUNG GIRLS.
MEN CONVICTED AND FINED. CHRISTCHURCH, August 27. Cases were heard to-day against eight young men charged with harbouring two girls under 16 years of age, who escaped from the State institution at Burwood. After hearing the evidence, Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., disposed of the cases as follows:— Victor Robert Blackburn convicted on three charges and fined i 10; Ernest Crozier, convicted on three charges and fined £l5 (one charge dismissed). The charges against George Boloski and Albert Crozier were dismissed. Philip Gibbons was convicted on one charge and fined £5. Three other charges against him were dismissed. James Hannan was convicted on three charges and fined £25. George Quaid was convicted on four charges and fined £7. Charles Timothy Rogal was convicted on two- charges and fined £lO.
