Auckland is to receive a visit this year from the Danish Government’s research ship Dana, according to a letter received by the Auckland Institute and Museum Council (reports the. Auckland Star). The* Department of Scientific and Industrial Research requested the collaboration of the institute in welcoming the Dana, which would call at Wellington and Auckland about the end of the present year in the course of a two years’ world cruise. The object of the cruise is to study marine life in pursuance of an international arrangement made some tinumgo. It was resolved to do whatever possible to assist the Danish scientists in their investigations. ?
