General Motors Contribution to New Zealand Industries.
The photograph above illustrates an airplane view of the plant at Petone of General Motors New Zealand, Limited, one of the most important contributors in recent years to the Dominion’s secondary industries. In this plant complete motor assembly operations are carried out with the following well-known General Motors’ trade marks:—Chevrolet Cars and Trucks;
Pontiac, Oldsmobile and the Buick 4-door Sedan. This operation keeps approximately 320 New Zealanders in constant employment, and purchases wherever possible, material from local sources, and this represents to every thinking buyer a vital reason for choosing a ” product of General Motors.” A group of the New Zealand employees is shown on the lower photograph.
