CHRISTCHURCH, August 21. Business has just resumed after Grand National Week, and there are few movements in prices to be recorded. The wheat market continues quiet, although a little better demand for milling quality is reported. Negotiations are proceeding to induce millers, whose agreements with Distributors, Ltd., are running out, to sign up again. The market : fon Garton oats is unchanged, but it is reported that a few parcels have been sold during the last day or two. Although the market is slightly firmer, prices have not been altered. ’ A; further slight firming of the potato market is recorded since last week-end, the advance being about 5s ner ton. J’V.r August-September delivery £6 ss, f.0.b., s.i., is quoted—equivalent to £4 15s uo £5, on trucks, to farmers. The Kaitoke took approximately 4000 sacks for Auckland, and the Wingatui, which is loading at Timaru, is due here on Thursday to take a good quantity for Auckland. Inquiry from Auckland for prompt delivery is somewhat better. August 24.
