SHEEP FOR CANADA.
SOUTH ISLAND SELECTION. AUCKLAND, August 23. One ’ Corriedale ram and four Corriedale ewes from the South Island will be shipped to Canada by the Niagara next Tuesday by Messrs S. Austin, Carr, and Co. They are to the order of the Canadian Government for its experimental farm at Lethbridge for stud, purposes, and were specially selected in the South Island by the Department of Agriculture, A considerable amount of .reciprocal business in the way of. the exchange of pedigree stock is being carried on at the present .time. Messrs Carrhave imported a number of pedigree. pigs, which were selected by the Department of Agriculture tii ria-nsula. and have more to arrive from
the eastern provinces of that Dominion. In the past New Zealand importations have been mainly restricted to the west of Canada. The Corriedales will arrive from the south by the Kaitokc.
