HORSE PARADE. The Otago A. and P. Society will hold its annual horse parade at Tahuna Park on Thursday, September 27. In addition to the usual classes for stallions four years old, two years old, and yearlings, the Clydesdale Horse Society offers Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co.’s Perpetual Challenge Cup for competition. For this competition stallions must be certified to by veterinary surgeons that the animals are free from specified hereditary diseases. No stallion will be allowed to compete for this cup unless proof is furnished that he has left in foal at least 35 per cent of the mares served by him, with a minimum of 10 foals. No animals which have won tha cup for one year and whose name lias been engraved thereon, will be eligibla to compete. The winner will receive the Clydesdale Horse Society’s medal duly inscribed as a record of winning the cup for one year. Mr John Macdonald, of Timaru, and Mr Simon Fleming, of Crookston, have been nominated to accept the position as judges.
