The cures of the diocese are to be asked to give a special collection for the assistaifee of a building fund begun in the Chathams for the erection of a little church in the village or settlement of Owenga (states the Church News). The island congregation hope to raise about £4O towards the cost, and it is thought that a suitable building, though very small, could be built for £250. The islanders are already making great efforts to build a vicarage for the resident priest, as there is no church house there and the vicar’s tenure of his present home is uncertain.
