RESEARCH ACTIVITIES.
WELLINGTON, April 30. Partly at the request of the Canadian research authorities, Cabinet has decided to send Dr E. Marsden, secretary of the New Zealand Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, to spend three months in Canada and America, the mam objects of the visit being (1) to arrange co-operation in certain research activities with the Research Council in Canada; (2) to establish connection with researches of the Bureau of Standards, Washington; (3) to investigate and re-* port on the organisation, scope, and function of the various research associations in different industries in America, such as the Meat. Packers’ Association; and (4) to reporfon certain aspects of the administration of agricultural research. ' ,
