PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS. WELLINGTON, May 1. The following police transfers and promotions were announced to-day by ths Commissioner, Mr MTlveney:— Senior Sergeant O’Hara, Dannevirkc, to Christchurch, replacing the late Senior Sergeant Lewis. Sergeant Martin, New Plymouth, to the charge of. Dannevirke. Sergeant M'Gregor, Christchurch, to New Plymouth. Sergeant' Hammond. Auckland, to the charge of Ponsonby, replacing Sergeant Watermain, retired. Sergeant .Capp, Auckland, to the charge of Dargaville, replacing Sergeant Griffiths, retired. Sergeant Lambert, Auckland, to the charge of Otahuhu, replacing Sergeant Parsons; retired. Constable Boyle, Te Awamutu,. promoted sergeant and transferred to AuckAuckland. Constable Martin, Napier, promoted sergeant and transferred to Christchurch. Constable Abel, Lumsden, promoted sergeant and transferred to Invercargib. replacing Sergeant Hewitt, who is transferred to the detective branch in that town. Constable Burnett, Coromandel, promoted sergeant, and transferred to Auckland. Constable Harrison, Patutahi, promoted sergeant and transferred to Christchurch. Detective Thompson, transferred from Christchurch to the detective office, Wellington. Constable M'Kay, Addington, .to the charge of the new station at North New Brighton. Constable Bruce Thompson, of Ellerslie, promoted to sergeant, and remains in Auckland. - Constable S. G. Clist, of Tanetua, promoted sergeant and transferred to Auckland.
