A SPORTING PARSON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) SYDNEY, April 19. The Rev. Archibald Bastin, vicar of a town in British Columbia, is obviously a bit of a sport as well as a wireless enthusiast. One can onlj; asume this from a letter which he has written to one of the Sydney broadcasting stations. “ I thoroughly enjoy,” he says, “ the description of the boxing contests broadcast from Sydney Stadium every Saturday night.” He speaks of one particular contest which was heard blow for blow and round for round, and of the fact that frequently the noise of the gloves as they make contact can be heard distinctly. As there are evidently many Doubting Thomases even in British Columbia, the bright and cheerful vicar asked the Sydney station for an authentic reception card. This has been posted. Mr Bastin is vicar of a place called Saanickton, British Columbia, if wireless enthusiasts in New Zealand are. interested, and want to get into touch with him. He seems the sort of parson worth knowing.
