One day they were asked by the farmer to go to the pump to fetch a pail of water. nnd' iffi 8 ’ C c U T kl J e 4 Teddy, u he must- think our names are Jack and Jill, instead of Teddy and Golly. Side by side they toddled across the yard to the pump, and Golly stood on the edge of the trough with the bucket, whilst Teddy climbed up the stone steps to work the handle. Unfortunately, just as the water started to gush out of the spout, Goily slipped, and a great cascade of water poured over him drenching him thoroughly. ’ Of course, Teddy fairly rocked with laughter, which made Gollv ann< ?y e u. 1 icking up the bucket, he scooped some water from the trough, and chased after Teddy, who had bolted. But he couldn’t escape Golly s wrath, and with a great heave the dusky bundle of mischief swept the contents of the bucket over Teddy! What a couple of beauties they looked! They resembled a pair of drowned rats But they were soon pals again. (To be Continued.)
