MAORI HILL CLUB

The twenty-third annual meeting of the Alaori Hill Association Football Club was held in the Coronation Hall, Alaori Hill, on 'Wednesday evening. Air J. Simpson (president) presided over a fair attendance of members.

In moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, the Chairman remarked that though none of th e three teams playing in the competition had succeeded in winning a cup, all had done veiy well throughout the season. A s for the balance sheet, it was the best that had ever been submitted since the inception of the club.

Out of a total of nearly 50 players only 21 had paid their subscriptions, which was decidedly unfair to those who were endeavouring to keep the club in a good position. Mr L. Johnson, in seconding the motion said that something should be done to prevent the unfinancial mem be re from playing. It was unfair that those who had the club’s interests at heart should hare to bear the extra burden imposed bv the defalcation of these players.
